La Prep’s CEO Naveen Seth firmly believes that dining isn’t just about food, but about people as well. During his childhood in India, eating was an opportunity to get together with family, friends, and colleagues and to share one of life’s simplest pleasures: a good meal. Later, after operating a string of highly successful businesses in Ontario, he decided to start catering lunches at his Ottawa-based IT business on Fridays. In doing so, he became well acquainted with several restaurant owners in the area and began cooking with them, which reignited his childhood passion for food and set him o on a new career path.
In 2000, Seth brought the Montreal-based La Prep brand (then known as Cafe? Supreme) to Toronto. Over the next 18 years, he opened 35 successful locations in the GTA area until he finally purchased the brand in 2017. Since taking over the reins, he has made it a priority to share his dining philosophy by introducing the two key concepts of “Find Your Balance” and “Social Bistro”.
At the new “Find Your Balance” La Prep, customers can opt for low- calorie salads or indulge in calorie-laden deserts. Experiment with bright, bold flavours or curl up with comfort classics. Personalize their own meals or chose from a variety of conveniently packaged favourites. It not only strives to offer something for everyone, but also encourages everyone to find their own balance.
The “Social Bistro” concept allows the new La Prep to be a community space for friends, families and colleagues to gather
for food. The new restaurants are rolling out with a contemporary new look and an emphasis on communal eating with the addition of sleek harvest tables alongside more private areas. Our goal is simple: to inspire people to find their balance and to connect with each other through great food.
This communal philosophy extends to our franchisees as well. Far too many franchisors only care about their bottom line and don’t see their franchisees as partners in their success. In stark contrast, Naveen Seth has always believed in working very closely with

To ensure consistently superior quality and provide full support to our franchise locations, we are also opening a new commissary kitchen from where we will provide food offerings based on our Executive Chef’s exclusive recipes.
